Plano para atrair marcas internacionais deixa PME reticentes

 set25 O Governo acaba de lançar um plano para atrair as maiores marcas internacionais e regionais a abrirem a sua primeira loja em Macau, com apoios até um milhão de patacas. Projeta-se mais emprego e notoriedade na região, sobretudo se houver aposta nas empresas lusófonas, destaca Matthew Liu, membro do Conselho de Desenvolvimento Económico.  set Sonny LO The direct and indirect elections held for Macau’s Legislative Assembly on September 14, 2025, were a tremendous success with 53.35 per cent of the voter turnout. A deep analysis of the voting behaviour in Macau’s legislative direct elections from 2001 to 2025 shows that while the pro-establishment faction has retained its support base of around 60 per cent in 2001-2013, its voters’ support dropped quite significantly in 2017 but jumped up to 70 per cent in 2021. Sonny Shiu-Hing Lo* The 2025 legislative direct elections, however, have demonstrated a slight decline of voters’ support for the pro-establishment camp compared with the situation in 2021. A similar phenomenon of oscillations in voters’ support can be seen in the pro-liberal camp, which gathered around 30 per cent of support from 2001 to 2013, and which shot up to 37 per cent in the hotly contested 2017 direct election. Gov’t to distribute additional grant to less privileged families

 set25 Social Welfare Bureau has announced an additional payout for families on benefit, with this one-off initiative involving some MOP14.6 million (US$1.82 million). About 2,600 households are due to receive their entitlements starting from 5 September. The handouts range from MOP4,350 to MOP20,270, with the upper end of this range for a family of eight, and the threshold for one-member family. According to the bureau, there are three sorts of financial support: general assistance, occasional assistance, as well as special assistance. The occasional grant are provided to those whose financial situation worsens over abrupt incidents or special needs, including inability to pay funeral expenses, disasters, crisis childcare, and admission to establishments for the geriatric or the physically or mentally challenged.
